Peru Catholic
Network
Wiring Project
On Saturday, August 3, 2002 members of the Illinois Valley Network Users Association
(IVNUA) met at Peru Catholic School in Peru, Illinois.
IVNUA expanded and
integrated the existing network within the school.
A cabling training
session was held prior to the beginning of work.
Bill Quesse provided useful and relevant information on
cabling and went over the plan for the project. Ron Wagner, a
vendor sponsor for IVNUA, then provided additional training to
those individuals that would terminate connections.
Network cable
runs were installed extending all network resources to each
classroom in the school.
The cables were run through the ceilings and drops were placed
into each room. Wall molding was put up to conceal and protect the
cables. Each cable was terminated properly at both ends.
Funding for this
project was provided by a grant from Novell Users International.
This was truly a
win-win situation for all involved.
The school benefited from the expansion of their network
resources at very little cost.
IVNUA and NUI benefited by improving our relationship with
our community and providing an atmosphere for enhanced education
of the area's students.
